Cave elves rarely make an appearance in the Realm, preferring to lurk  in their underground labyrinths and practice despairing magics. Karah,  however, is seeking out revenge against Krodor (the antagonist in Black Blood) for slaughtering her family when she was 15 years old. She was  left with a scar on her side with a wayward blast of dark magic from the  deranged villain. Her burning revenge will lead her out of the familiar dark into the bright sunlight, and plans to use his own magic to settle the score. She doesn’t want to lose her soul to the Lich like Krodor has done, so she’s preparing to become a Deathcaster.
